The Ledbrook Team consider rehabilitation as a process to help restore a person’s freedom and independence in the areas of daily home and work life that they consider most important to their own situation and surroundings. In many cases this will also involve family and carers. Rehabilitation is often concerned largely with physical functioning, although at Ledbrook the team feel that rehabilitation should also consider the quality of life, aspirations and motivation of the individual whilst being mindful of their emotional wellbeing.
At Ledbrook we have the ideal environment and facilities, with dedicated clinicians and healthcare staff who have the necessary skills, knowledge and time to enable our patients to achieve their appropriate levels of rehabilitation. We are aware that pacifying a patient with unrealistic predictions is unconstructive and often leads to disappointment; hence we are honest when predicting outcomes and recommending assistive devices and what they can help achieve.
