Case Studies

Judith is from Nigeria, and Maria, who is her sister, arranged for her to come to the UK for treatment. Judith had a right polio leg which she could not weight bear as it would collapse. She has been using a walking frame to mobilise. She came to the clinic for advice on how to support the polio leg. John Young, The clinician, advised her she should have a bespoke knee ankle foot orthosis to brace her leg in extension and stop it collapsing. A cast was taken of the leg, and the KAFO was manufactured in polypropylene with lockable titanium hinges. As you can see from the video, she coped very well. That was the first time she tried it and she did extremely well. She has now returned to Nigeria, and her sister tells us that she is managing to walk with the KAFO and without any other aids. She will return to the UK next year, when we will review her.

Testimonials

We are speechless and short of words to describe the expert, competent life changing care my sister received in this Center.

My sister Judith, had polio as a kid and was only mobile with a rolling frame for 25 years. Now she is walking tall and straight independently through the efficient treatment (Calliper)received from Ledbrook . Mr John was the brain , heart and hand that made this ``miracle `` happened . His care provider patient's relationship was excellent! He was a worthy ambassador of the Center . Theresa and all the other staff are amazing.

We would gladly highly recommend Ledbrook Orthosthic and Prosthetic Center to anyone that would need such Services.

Please we are already carrying the good news to everywhere we have connections.

Thank you All.
