Mrs. Eileen Atkinson, Solicitor, East Anglia

I am a very fashionable lady who has to wear specialist orthopaedic made to measure footwear as I have hammer toes and my feet are different sizes.

The NHS provide only one pair of footwear for me every 18 months which are very basic and I don’t really have much choice as to colour and styles. The NHS is great, but the waiting times for my footwear are quite long. I also see a different person every time I go to the hospital, so that quite frequently my shoes are going backwards and forwards to the manufacturer for all kinds of adjustments.

I need to wear smart shoes for work, and finding the Ledbrook Clinic has been a revelation to me.

John Young is very professional and helpful, and talked me through the various styles of footwear I could have, and the choice of colours and types of leather I could have.

I can now wear skirts which I couldn’t wear before, as I didn’t want anyone to see my shoes.

I have had boots made for the winter and also sandals for the summer. I couldn’t be happier.

My footwear is so comfortable, and I feel as if I have been given a new lease of life.
