Silicone Toes
A year ago she had the tips of her big toe and the toe next to it of her right foot amputated. She approached the Ledbrook Clinic looking for silicone prostheses for her toes.
She came for the initial appointment and saw the silicone technician and Prosthetist for her assessment. It was decided that the best solution would be to make a partial foot for her with 2 prosthetic silicone toes. Casts and measurement were taken along with a first colour match. At the second appointment, she had a fitting for her prosthetic foot and toes. At this stage, changes to the shape and length of the toes can be made. A final colour match was done, and the foot was delivered and fitted 3 weeks later.

I have now tried out the prosthesis for longer walks on Saturday and Sunday. The balance in my foot is so much better and I am using all my toes to walk again. The pain I usually had in my heel and leg because of the imbalance in my right foot seems to have gone’.
